ICFHT Health Canada Funding Announcement
In April, 2023 ICFHT was awarded $992,114 in expansion funding from Health Canada's Substance Use and Addictions, to support the continued development of the SubHub operated in conjunction with physicians from ICHA. The SubHub provides wrap-around support for people experiencing homelessness who have substance use challenges. The funding announcement noted that this will be the "first Toronto-based safer supply project to support individuals who not only rely on opioids, but also stimulants and alcohol."
This project will specifically target individuals who are living in shelters, encampments, and other homeless settings by providing them access to a flexible drop-in style clinic. The project will include participation from people with lived and living experience with substance use to further project development, data collection and evaluation.
